A great win for Murray over Blake today at Queens, but what was infuriating is the incessant criticism of the crowd at Queens by Radio 5 Live’s tennis correspondent Jonathan Overend. First he had a go at gentleman, who was slow hand clapping and then the crowd at Queens not participating in the matches all week
What Overend does not understand is that these people have choice and are not privilege to have a free media pass like him. He then went on to criticise slow play and towelling down by the tennis professionals in the game, particularly Novak Djorkovic. Overend is ignorant of the the game and he should not be opinionated but describe the action. Whatever happened to great commentators, Henry Longhurst, Richie Benaud and Kenneth Wolsenholme, Peter Jones, Maurice Edelston,
Overend do us all a favour and choke on that mic of yours. Queens is a class act and most of players are playing for their livelihood.
